The Company (About Us)

PROSPECT is a family owned business, established for over 35 years. We mail around 1.5 million letters per week on average, peaking at twice that figure.

We have built our reputation on providing a value-for-money service, which is no less professional, sophisticated and thorough for that. Originally an old-fashioned handfill operation, PROSPECT now complements the still-thriving handwork department with comprehensive computer bureau, lasering and machine finishing/enclosing facilities.

Established in 1971, Prospect has grown into one of the largest direct mail production operations in the north of England. We are based in Bradford, Yorkshire's mail-order heartland.

We are unique amongst the large mailing houses in that we have no minimum run lengths and will happily undertake mailing quantities from hundreds through to millions.

YOUR PRIMARY CONTACTS:

MILES BERRY (Managing Director)
Pictured right with the next generation of management!

Miles has been at Prospect for 24 years, and running the company since 1988. In addition to general management, Miles compiles many quotes to customers and enquirers personally, and has a hands-on approach which is well suited to a customer-orientated production environment. He was a founding committee member of the old DMA North.

JOANNA RODWELL (Production Director)
Pictured right with our dad David Berry, Prospect's founder.
Joanna (Miles' sister) is responsible for ensuring that work is carried out on time to the required standard, which involves co-ordinating a broad range of production activities. Her main challenge is allocating capacity in the correct proportion for each job, taking account of changing circumstances. Joanna's efforts ensure that we keep our reputation for flexibility and reliability.

LINDA WIDDOP, JO FOSTER, LYN TAYLOR, DEBBIE WILKINSON (Account Managers)

Linda has been in an account management role since 1989, and prior to that obtained solid shop floor experience as a production supervisor. Jo joined Prospect in 1995 from Grattan, where she worked for several years in their marketing department. Lyn moved to account management after several years in our database department. Debbie is a recent recruit to the team having spent several years in handfill production.

Their responsibilities include acting as the interface between customers and production, providing progress reports, clarifying any queries and maintaining the job files, correspondence, samples etc. that go into controlling each mailing.

TESTIMONIALS

" Together we have experienced late starts, moving mail dates, additional inserts and interruption to supplies, yet throughout it all, your commitment and dedication to completing the job on time has never failed, allowing us to maintain our record of service with this valued client." (Trade customer)

" The client rang me at home on Friday to congratulate me on a job well done. I told them that it was mainly down to you that we were able to get the couriers away on time - there was not one query or error on all of the deliveries." (Security printer)

" Just a quick letter to thank you for your tireless attention both over the phone and at the mill. Being a newcomer to the "mailing game" it came as a great relief to be able to speak to people who gave the time to explain what was going on and to answer my (sometimes stupid) questions." (Training company)

" Having considered the initial schedule to be quite restricting, being able to tell our customers 95% of the mailing had been despatched days in advance of the agreed deadline earned us quite a few "brownie points"." (Trade customer)

" Being a small company, it is gratifying to find a supplier who - although capable of handling massive jobs like share flotations - still takes the trouble to put service to the fore when someone like us wants 2,700 envelopes stuffing. If only your standards were shared by other organisations in the printing and production field - our problems would be almost over!" (Advertising agency)

DIRECTIONS

Prospect is situated due south of Bradford city centre, less than five minutes from junction 26 of the M62.
From the M62 motorway: leave at junction 26. Take the A58 towards Halifax. After 1.5 miles you will reach a crossroads with traffic lights and the Westfield pub on your right. Turn right. Drive straight on for 1/2 mile until you reach a crossroads where you have to stop. Turn right. You are now driving through Wyke village; keep going to the top of the village where you have to stop at an angled T-junction. Turn right, and almost immediately (after pedestrian crossing), right again. At that point you will see the dark satanic mill, with our car park on your left. Reception is clearly signposted- the glass door.

Alternatively from Odsal Top take the A641 south toward Brighouse. After 1 mile bear left for Wyke immediately after the Harold Club. At the mini roundabout (1/2 mile) go straight on and the mill is on the left after another 150 yards or so.

DAVID BERRY (1928-2004)

Dad died peacefully at home on Sunday 2nd May. Though not active in the day-to-day management of Prospect for some time, he set the principles by which we operate to this day. I would like to thank customers, suppliers and staff for their support at this difficult time.  - Miles Berry 4th May 2004
